Job Description

Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment. In addition, this role requires routine maintenance work which includes inspection of machinery and equipment.

Continental DAY shifts – 7 shifts across two weeks * 26 bi weekly period per year = 182 days of work per year. Traditional work patterns are – 10 shifts across two weeks * 26 bi-weekly periods per year = 260 days of work per year

Job Responsibilities
Assist the Maintenance and Production Department to oversee the day-to-day functionality of the department including supporting the assembly line to ensure optimal performance.
Troubleshoot machinery, belts, conveyors, PLCs.
Provide general upkeep of the production plant.
Keep and follow a schedule of items that require daily and/or periodic attention.
Follow the Preventative Maintenance program to ensure proper functionality of equipment to limit production down time
Follow all occupational health and safety and food safety guidelines and wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Ensure and promote a safe work environment and report any unsafe conditions to the Maintenance Supervisor or Manager.
Education and Experience
3-5 years’ experience working in a processing, CPG or food industry
3+ years’ experience working within a food production facility, or similar industry
Experience working with multi-meters, conveyors, motor/gearbox replacement
Electrical or Millwright licenses considered an asset
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), SQF/HACCP is an asset
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work comfortably within a team environment, as well as independently
Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude
